Day 43: Bismarck, ND – Richardton, ND

Eek! I’ve fallen behind in posting! The theme of the day was beautiful riding. After the winds of North Dakota made their bold statement the other day, sailing has been much smoother. Mileage-wise it was a long day and by the end I was fading. Luckily I had my dear British friends for moral support. Ryan has a Garmin GPS and we’ve taken to playing the elevation game, which is a welcome mental break from thinking about how tired I am. We also play the state capital game, with Ryan and Eel competing.

The big rolling hills are tiring, but the scenery keeps me happy!

…as do signs for sauerkraut!!!

We spent the night camping next to the Assumption Abbey, where we met Father Otto. I’d heard of the abbey from Rod a very long time ago. We arrived too late to have dinner with them, but we had a nice conversation with Father Otto before he left for Vespers.
